Foodie Journey: Local Khmer Food

I am a foodie, many friends of mine can tell. Any chance of traveling abroad will drive me to food and especially local food. From East to West. From fancy to simple.

Being in Cambodia in 2015 is not my first time but definitely my longest time staying and working in Siem Reap in particular. I have tried many local dishes by my own or with my local friends and colleagues.

Khmer food: more grilled, less oil; light curry paste, more spices, more raw vegetable, and fish sauce of course. Personally I find Khmer food in Siem Reap more similar to food in my hometown back in Mekong Delta, Viet Nam. I enjoy eating them quite a lot and definitely I will miss it when I am back Saigon next month.

This is mainly about real dish – I will post about Khmer snacks later
