Cambodia Day 1: On-The-Bus Day

Safely arrived at PP at 2PM after 6-hour bus ride from HCMC to Phnom Penh. Mocbai-Bovet border is quite simple and boring. On Cambodian side, I saw many casinos and hotels together with a lot of poor thatch-roof houses along the main road. Kumho Bus dropped us off at their office on Preah Sihanouk Blvd. We spent more than 20mins in the bank to exchange money and more than 2hrs at a local cellphone store to get a simcar. Finally with a nice help of a 15-year-old girl with excellent English, we got a simcar with 3G. Not bad. Connection is not stable much though.

Surprised that PP has changed a lot after 2 years. I can see people using iPhones, even iPhones 4 around the city. Buildings and wats are unchanged though, hehe

One stupid thing I just made is that I left my camera battery at home in HCMC. So right now I am traveling with battery-less camera. Dang! first time ever. However, I have a 5MP phone camera though. Hope with my skills, I still can manage to have nice photos 🙂

Today main activities were walking around, exchanging money, getting simcard, finding a 10-usd twin-bedded hotel room by the Tonle Sap River.

Tomorrow, plan of visiting school S-21, Royal Palace… Probably heading to Sieam Reap as well.

Nice weather here by the way 🙂
