May 18 – Ho Chi Minh city (aka Saigon)

Saigon is the same. I do not describe it again.

Food. Yeap,  one of my travel purposes this summer.

My friend, Ha, took us (my mom, Doug, Meaghan and I) to Banh Khot Co Ba Vung Tau for lunch. They are little Vietnamese pancakes with fishballs, pork and mushroom, or prawns and shrimp powder on the top. We ate that with green vegetable – cleaned by OZON system (I like it) and Vietnamese mixed salad (papaya, mango and lotus).

Dinner was in Com Neu Viet Nam. Very Vietnamese style. We had cooked rice on hot clay pot, sour soup with morning glory and little shrimp, boiled chicken with lemon leaves (Northern style) and tom rim (hix, dont know how to translate – which are prawm, fish souce, a little sugar). It is so good 🙂

This is banh khot Vung Tau: a little pancake (rice flour) with fish balls, pork and a bit dried shrimp powder on the top (which is orange)

com dap (hix, every time we have it, we need to break a pot) haha. I do not really like it though. it is a bit hard to chew for me

Then, we all headed to meet SIT kids and had some smoothies. I am a big fan of smoothies 🙂

Tomorrow will be a long day with a tight traveling schedule

Start at 7 am, heading to Cu Chi tunnel.

Go to the airport at 2pm from Cu Chi tunnel.

Take a flight at 4pm from Saigon to Danang.

Take a private bus at 5.30 from Danang to Hoi An.

Well, we call it travel 🙂
